PM issues Defence Order No. 33 on management of Himmat Watan Fund

AMMAN — Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Sunday issued Defence Order No. 33 of 2021, based on the provisions of Defence Law No.13 of 1992.
Defence Order No. 33 aims to amend the management mechanisms of Himmat Watan Fund’s main donation account, which were stipulated in Defence Order No. 4 of 2020, through terminating the part related to the formation of a committee tasked with managing the Himmat Watan Fund's account.
The amendments also included adding Article (12): The Prime Minister is entitled to amend any of the provisions of this defence order, via circulars he issues for this purpose, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Himmat Watan (A Nation’s Effort) Fund was established under Defence Order No. 4 to support national efforts to curb the coronavirus and address its repercussions. The fund is established for receiving local and foreign donations that exceed hundreds of thousands and even millions of Jordanian dinars to support the Kingdom’s efforts to fight the COVID pandemic.

Donations have been pouring in from banks, companies and individuals to the Himmat Watan (A Nation’s Effort) Fund, established under Defence Order No. 4 to support national efforts to curb the coronavirus pandemic and its repercussions.
