PM, Lower House speaker discuss reforms

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Abdulkarim Dughmi on Wednesday met with Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh. During the meeting, both sides expressed eagerness to sustain cooperation between the legislative and executive branches.
Khasawneh and Dughmi stressed that the government and Lower House have tasks to accomplish during the first ordinary session of the Chamber, such as endorsing the elections and political parties laws and constitutional amendments, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Dughmi said that the House-government relations aim to realise the Royal vision of developing the homeland and continuing the reform process. Khasawneh stressed that the government is scheduled to form a committee during the upcoming days to modernise the administrative system.
Additionally, it plans to achieve a required balance between developing public administration and removing bureaucratic challenges facing the private sector and investments in a way that contributes to creating jobs and addressing poverty.
