AMMAN — Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Sunday received Merza Hasan, executive director and dean of the board of executive directors at the World Bank Group (WBG).
The premier expressed his keenness to bolster partnerships and cooperation with the WBG and the duo reviewed a series of mega projects in vital sectors including transportation, energy and water to drum up support for implementing them.
"In spite of the difficult regional conditions, there are positive indicators of economic achievements including the increase in exports, tourism and the Jordan Central Bank reserves of foreign currency," Razzaz said.
Hasan expressed the WBG's readiness to provide financial and technical support to implement high priority mega projects in the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The WBG recognises the challenges that Jordan is experiencing as a result of the regional conditions and the importance of attracting investments that generate job opportunities, he added.
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and State Minister for Economic Affairs Mohamad Al-Ississ and WBG consultant Fawaz Balbisi also attended the meeting, Petra added.
