Police chief, Canadian envoy talk security cooperation

AMMAN — Public Security Department (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh and Canadian Ambassador to Jordan Donica Pottie on Wednesday discussed means of enhancing security cooperation.
Hawatmeh stressed that the PSD constantly seeks to enhance cooperation with security service counterparts in friendly countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He noted the importance of expertise exchange between Jordan and Canada to enhance police performance and strengthen the capacity of the public security apparatus.
He praised the cooperation between the PSD and the Canadian embassy on issues related to improving police performance. Pottie said that Jordan has reached an advanced position among regional countries in providing security and humanitarian services to citizens and guests of the Kingdom.
