Police chief reviews security measures ahead of X’mas, new year

AMMAN — Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh on Tuesday reviewed security measures being taken in preparation for Christmas and new year.
Chairing a security meeting, Hawatmeh said that police personnel are being deployed near churches in accordance to the PSD’s security plan. He also directed the PSD personnel to implement traffic plans near churches and monitor to defence orders that ban large gatherings.
The police chief also urged the public to observe physical distancing and wearing masks, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The PSD meeting also reviewed security procedures put in place, in cooperation with the Education Ministry, for the 2020/2021 Tawjihi (the General Secondary Education Certificate Examination) complementary session.
