Prince Feisal turns 51

AMMAN — HRH Prince Feisal celebrated his 51st birthday on Saturday.

Born on October 11, 1963, Prince Feisal received his elementary education at the Islamic Scientific College in Amman and continued his schooling in the United Kingdom.

In 1971, the prince went to the US to complete his secondary education in Massachusetts and Washington.

He enrolled at Brown University in the US in 1981, graduating in 1985 with a BSc in electronic engineering.

During this period, Prince Feisal received training as a pilot, and received his wings in 1982.

In 1997, he graduated with a master’s degree from London Business College.

On September 20, 2004, a Royal Decree was issued appointing Prince Feisal, who holds the rank of lieutenant general, as special assistant to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff.

The prince is also the chairman of the board of trustees of the King Abdullah II Centre for Excellence and chairman of the Higher Supervision and Guidance Committee of the Special Operation Forces Exhibition.

He is also head of the Royal committee tasked with upgrading the water sector, president of the Jordan Olympic Committee, and chairman of Jordan Motorsport.

The prince has also been a member of the executive board of the Olympic Council of Asia since 2008 and a member of the International Olympic Committee since 2010.

In 2007, the prince launched the Generations For Peace initiative which seeks to empower and train young leaders to use sport to unify youths to contribute to worldwide peace efforts.

Prince Feisal has four children, Their Royal Highnesses Princess Ayah, Prince Omar and twin daughters, Princess Sara and Princess Aisha.  

On January 4 this year, the prince married HRH Princess Zina Al Feisal.
