AMMAN — HRH Prince Hassan on Wednesday delivered a lecture titled “Renewing the renaissance: a vision for the future” to students at the National Defence Course 20, and the master’s programme on Counter-Extremism and Terrorism Strategies 6 at the Royal Jordanian National Defence College (RJNDC).

During the lecture — attended by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, Commander of the College Brig. Gen. Azzam Rawahneh — Prince Hassan pointed out that renaissance is a holistic vision of construction, and includes both human resources and logistics support, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The prince noted that the key to the renaissance’s success is investing in human capital to build knowledge and adopt people-centred policies.

He also drew attention to the importance of developing resources through providing an independent scientific and technological database based on absolute information to enable decision-makers to build proper policies and identify priorities, in line with the region’s priorities.

Prince Hassan emphasised the need for a holistic approach that takes into account the interconnected relationship between the health system, education, food security, water and energy, as well as science and technology to address various crises, mitigate their effects and proactively strengthen crisis and disaster management.

At the end of the lecture, an extensive debate took place during which Prince Hassan answered questions from students.
