AMMAN — HRH Princess Basma, president of the Jordanian Association for Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, on Wednesday attended a national scouts’ meeting aiming at integrating disabled youth into the scouts association.

The meeting was organised in cooperation with the youth and education ministries at the Amman Youth House under the motto, “Al Hussein Meeting for Peace”, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The disabled participated with 100 scouts for the anniversary of His Majesty the late King Hussein’s birthday.

Princess Basma highlighted the importance of the meeting, which reflected Jordan’s keenness to enhance joint Arab work at all levels, stressing the significant role of the Arab Scouts’ Association within the Arab cooperation framework.

She also stressed the assimilation of the disabled with the Arab Scouts’ Association, which results in a “qualitative leap” at Arab and international levels, praising the noble goals of Arab Scouts in spreading peace and community service.

Princess Basma voiced her appreciation towards Arab delegations who participated in the meeting, which aimed to enhance the disabled scouts’ confidence and their integration with their peers.

The event consisted of a number of activities, including: sport and peace, community coexistence, robotics competition, film industry, scouts’ skills and mental games.
