AMMAN — HRH Princess Basma, president of the steering committee of the Queen Alia Competition for Social Responsibility, on Monday honoured the sponsors and participants in the contest's 2018 round, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
This year's round of the competition, implemented by the Jordanian Fund for Human Development, focused on the misuse of social media networks and targeted university and school students, according to Petra.
Giving a speech at the ceremony, Princess Basma highlighted the competition's contributions to raising social awareness on several issues, commending in this regard the cooperation of the public and private sectors, Petra said.
The princess announced the allocation of parts of the competition's revenues to support the Al Rajaa school for the deaf in Russeifa, the Ministry of Education's learning resource rooms, the Mutah centre for special education in Karak and mobile physiotherapy units for cerebral palsy patients, according to Petra.
Head of the competition's higher committee, Atef Odeibat, outlined in a presentation the contest's social awareness objectives and contributions.
