Princess Muna attends benefit for Families and Friends Society of Persons with Disabilities

AMMAN — HRH Princess Muna, president of the Jordanian Nursing Council and patron for nursing and midwifery in the eastern Mediterranean region, on Saturday attended a charity ceremony by the society of families and friends of people with disabilities (Families & Friends Society of Persons with Disabilities, revenues from which will be directed to supporting the society’s programmes. 

HH Prince Mired Bin Raad, president of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and members of the diplomatic community attended the ceremony.

Princess Muna, the honorary president of the society, honoured the society’s partners and supporters, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.  

Riham Omeish, president of the society, said that the association was established in 1994 with the aim of providing rehabilitation, training and necessary skills to help people with disabilities adapt and integrate into society.

The society also works on raising awareness and acceptance of people with disabilities within their families and society, as well as supporting their rights and providing them with equal opportunities in education and work, according to Petra.
