PSD to provide security services for Korean cooperation agency personnel

AMMAN — On Tuesday, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Public Security Directorate (PSD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide security for KOICA volunteers and Korean personnel during their stays in Jordan and to further strengthen the existing friendly relations between the two parties.

According to a KOICA statement, 16 PSD officials have participated in KOICA fellowship and training programmes since 2011 in fields such as cyber crime investigation, crime prevention and criminal justice and digital forensics, which involve travelling to Korea for training to enhance their capacities and offer benefits from Korean expertise in these fields.

Meanwhile, over 20 Korean volunteers and personnel reside in Jordan while providing their services as part of KOICA’s grant aid programmes. The MoU aims to ensure their protection and immediate attention to their emergencies by establishing a “KOICA Desk” at the PSD and facilitating future cooperation in other grant aid programmes provided by KOICA, the statement said.
