Public urged to look for Shawwal moon

AMMAN — Chief Islamic Justice Ahmad Hilayel on Monday urged the public to look for the crescent moon of Shawwal, which marks the end of Ramadan, at sunset on Thursday, July 16, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
In Islam, the sighting of the crescent moon at the end of Ramadan marks the beginning of Shawwal and the first day of Eid Al Fitr, the Muslim feast marking the end of the fasting month.
