AMMAN — The Qatari embassy in Amman on Monday evening held an event to celebrate the National Day of Qatar, marking the accession to the throne of Sheik Jassem Bin Mohammed Bin Thani.
Delivering a speech, Senate President Faisal Fayez conveyed wishes of continued security and stability in Qatar and further development and prosperity, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Jordan cherishes its deep-rooted, historical relations with Qatar, he said, adding that His Majesty King Abdullah and Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani are keen on developing these ties.
Fayez also voiced appreciation of Qatari support to Jordan, expressing the Kingdom’s keenness to strengthen its relations with Qatar, especially in light of the circumstances and challenges in the region and the world.
Qatar's Ambassador to Jordan Sheikh Saud Bin Nasser Bin Jassim Al Thani affirmed the “solid” ties binding the two countries in various fields and at all levels.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1972, the Jordanian-Qatari relations witnessed remarkable development and growth in all fields, thanks to the wise visions of the two leaderships, becoming a model for Arab relations, he added.
The ambassador also extended appreciation to Jordan's leadership, people and government for their support and cooperation to make Qatar’s hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup a success.
