Queen meets Sheikha Bodour of Sharjah

AMMAN — Her Majesty Queen Rania on Wednesday met with Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, daughter of the ruler of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
The meeting, which took place in Amman, touched on the importance of providing children with quality education, and the need to promote reading amongst them in order to develop their skills and abilities, a statement from Her Majesty’s office said.
Sheikha Bodour, who is the honorary president of the UAE Board on Books for Young People (UAEBBY) and the head of the organising committee of Knowledge without Borders, talked about the initiatives she launched to promote reading.
She is visiting Jordan as part of a delegation from Sharjah that came to Amman to hold a number of activities organised by UAEBBY and Knowledge without Borders for Syrian children at the UAE-run Mreijeb Al Fhoud Refugee Camp, including the launch of a library that includes more than 3,000 books.
