Queen Noor visits Iraq Al Amir Women Cooperative Society

AMMAN —Her Majesty Queen Noor on Sunday visited the Iraq Al Amir Women Cooperative Society and reviewed its achievements of supporting local community women.
Her Majesty toured the society’s recently-opened workshops teaching ceramics, fabric, cardboard, kitchen and soap, in order to generate an income that ensures the sustainability of the society.
The society’s president, Yusra Husami, said the society believes in a bright future that touches on the handicrafts that combine the heritage with the modern community, adding that the society was founded by the Noor Al Hussein Foundation in 1993 with the aim of preserving the environment, architectural heritage and empowering women.
She also pointed out that more than 150 families benefitted from the services provided by the society, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
