Queen Rania Award for Excellence honours distinguished teachers, principals

AMMAN — The Queen Rania Award for Excellence’s (QRAEE) 14th Teacher Awards on Saturday honoured 133 teachers from a total of 3,896 educators who applied this year. 

A total of 28 principles were also honoured as part of the 6th edition of the QRAEE’s Distinguished Principals Award, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. 

The QRAEE has already begun the final phase of excellence awards in education, reaching the field evaluation stage. A total of 64 teachers and 20 principals have made it to this stage and will be honoured in a ceremony scheduled for December. 

QRAEE Executive Director Lubna Touqan congratulated those who have made it this far and expressed the QRAEE’s appreciation for the Ministry of Education’s role in implementing the association’s plan, which aims to enhance the contributions of distinguished educators. 

Acting Education Ministry Secretary General for Administrative Affairs Najwa Qubeilat, who attended the ceremony on behalf of the minister of education, commended the QRAEE’s efforts in encouraging teachers to excel and in embedding a culture of distinction in education. 

Qubeilat called on the honourees to promote such values among their colleagues to improve the quality of  the education field.
