Real estate trade volume up by 11% in first 8 months of 2021

AMMAN — The real estate trade volume in the Kingdom increased by 11 per cent to JD3.089 billion in the first eight months of 2021 compared with the same period of 2019, the Department of Land and Survey announced on Wednesday.
According to the department’s monthly report, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the department’s revenues in the first eight months of 2021 declined by 12 per cent to JD126.4 million compared with the January to August period of 2019.
The comparison was made to 2019 due to the impact of the pandemic that affected workdays in 2020, the department noted.
The real estate trade volume in August alone stood at JD487 million, up by 41 per cent compared with the same month of 2019 and up by 39 per cent compared with July 2021.
The department’s revenues in August 2021 dropped 16 per cent to JD20 million compared with the same month in 2019, and marked a drop of 39 per cent when compared to July, 2021.
The real estate sales in the January-August period of 2021 increased by 49 per cent, where apartment sales increased by 33 per cent and land sales increased by 54 per cent, compared with the same period of 2019.
