Real estate trade volume reached JD4.6b in 2019 — Land department

AMMAN — Real estate trade volume during 2019 reached JD4.632 billion, according to the Department of Land and Survey’s monthly report.
Property sales in 2019 increased by 6 per cent, while apartment sales decreased by 1 per cent, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported, citing the report.
Land sales rose by 9 per cent compared with 2018, while revenue decreased in 2019 by 14 per cent compared with 2018, to reach JD230.4 million.
The report showed that the volume of trading in the Jordanian real estate market during December 2019 increased by 45 per cent compared with the same month of 2018, to reach JD653 million.
The report indicated that the estimated value of sales of non-Jordanians during December 2019 increased by 3 per cent compared with the same month in 2018, amounting to JD38.1 million.
The North Amman Land Registration Department topped with a trading volume of JD923 million, followed by the Amman Land Registration Department at JD596 million, the West Amman Land Registration Department with JD477 million and the South Amman Land Registration Department, which came last at JD447 million.
The report stated that the number of real estate sales to non-Jordanian investors during 2019 amounted to 3219, with an estimated value of JD236 million, marking a decrease of 17 per cent, compared with the same period in 2018.
Meanwhile, Iraqis ranked first followed by Saudis and Gazans in top real-estate purchasers in 2019.
