AMMAN — An archaeological team has discovered three ancient settlements in Mafraq’s Safawi area, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Thursday.
Mafraq Antiquities Department Director Abdulqadir Hussan said that the settlements date back to the Neolithic, Bronze and Iron ages, as well as the Byzantine and Islamic eras.
The discovery is worth noting in terms of findings such as pottery, inscriptions and Neolithic animal pictographs, Hussan added.
