AMMAN — The rehabilitation of the Jerash-Amman highway, which is currently damaged due to a landslide, needs about 60 to 70 working days in normal weather conditions, Public Works and Housing Minister Sami Halaseh said on Sunday.
During a visit to the location, Halaseh said the ministry is taking practical precautions in the rehabilitation process to avoid future collapses.
Halaseh stated that the severe traffic jam witnessed on the detour last week was due to an accident involving a truck that overturned.
The ministry has coordinated with the Public Security Department to ban trucks from using the detour to avoid similar accidents, he added.
