AMMAN — The Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS) launched the "Care" project in three governorates: Ajloun, Mafraq and Tafileh.
The project comes on the sidelines of the RHAS’ signing of a cooperation agreement with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and the EU in Jordan, to access funding to support joint efforts and goals towards a "better health future" in Jordan.
The agreement stipulates that the EU Regional Trust Fund offers the RHAS funding to enhance skills on a national level in basic healthcare, and support health in public schools and in healthcare centres in Mafraq, Tafileh and Ajloun.
It also aims to promote the prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases and to raise health awareness among Jordanians and Syrian refugees. Established in 2005, the RHAS aims to raise health and safety awareness in Jordan through preventative programmes and awareness campaigns.
The programmes intend to encourage Jordanians to adopt healthy habits and lifestyles through capacity building, and interactive learning.
