AMMAN — Royal Jordanian (RJ) on Monday diverted a Chicago-Amman flight to Montreal Airport to provide treatment to a passenger, the airline said in a statement.
A 70-year-old Jordanian woman “suddenly felt extreme fatigue during the flight”, so the captain requested permission to land at the nearest airport to offer her treatment as soon as possible.
An ambulance was waiting upon landing, and RJ employees at Montreal accompanied the passenger to a hospital close to the airport.
The plane, with 224 passengers on board, resumed its flight to Amman after a two-hour delay in Montreal, according to RJ.
