AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi, who is also head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal initiatives, on Saturday met with local community representatives from Shobak District.

The meeting was held to follow up on the implementation of directives that His Majesty King Abdullah had issued during his recent visit to Shobak, Issawi said. The ministers of water, local administration and tourism reviewed the development plans for Shobak, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The representatives, during the meeting, drew attention to the importance of improving the district’s tourism sector and linking it with the “golden triangle”, which consists of Aqaba, Wadi Rum and Petra. They also called for optimising the region’s adventure tourism potentials.
