AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi met on Sunday with a youth delegation from Zarqa and stressed the Kingdom’s supportive stance to the Palestinian people in facing the Israeli aggression on Gaza and rallying international support to stop the war on the besieged strip.
Issawi added that Jordan, under His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives, continues to exert political and humanitarian efforts on all fronts to support Palestinians in Gaza, who are enduring a severe tragedy due to the brutal Israeli aggression, according to a Royal Court statement.
Issawi pointed out that the political efforts and diplomatic movement led by His Majesty the King are paralleled by humanitarian efforts to aid the people in Gaza, adding that Jordan provides humanitarian, medical, and relief assistance, and continues to receive and treat sick and injured Palestinians at Jordanian field hospitals.
He also stressed Jordan’s firm stance against any attempt to displace Palestinians from their lands, as well as any attempt to separate the West Bank and Gaza Strip, considering them both as parts of a single Palestinian state.
The chief referred to King Abdullah’s participation in airdrops of relief and medical aid to Gaza, despite the risks and difficulties faced during such operations in these circumstances.
He pointed to the significant and impactful role of Her Majesty Queen Rania in highlighting the reality of the oppression and destruction faced by the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip under the Israeli occupation.
Issawi also highlighted the supportive efforts of HRH Crown Prince Hussein for the Royal efforts in emphasising the steadfast Jordanian position, as well as the participation of HRH Princess Salma in one of the airdrops.
He reiterated that Jordan will not accept any settlement of the Palestinian issue at its expense or that of its national interests, nor will it accept any solution that does not fulfil the aspirations of the Palestinian people.
He added that the Royal directive to hold parliamentary elections stresses that Jordan is strong with its national unity and the cohesion of its social fabric.
The youth delegates stressed their support for the King in all his stances and regional and international efforts to stop the savage Israeli aggression that the people in Gaza are facing.
They highlighted the honourable Jordanian stances in supporting the Palestinians and providing them with medical, relief, and humanitarian aid by air and land, in addition to the political and diplomatic efforts.
The youth delegates appreciated the Royal efforts aimed at enhancing the role of youth and their participation in political life, as well as empowering women, referring to their interest in participating in the upcoming parliamentary elections, and in being engaged in the partisan life.
