Royal Decree appoints president of national epidemiology centre

AMMAN — A Royal Decree was issued on Thursday approving the appointment of Firas Hawari as president of the National Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases Centre, with the rank of minister and for a four-year term.
The centre has a council chaired by the prime minister, with the membership of the health minister, minister of agriculture, minister of water and irrigation, minister of environment, the president of the centre, the director general of the Royal Medical Services, in addition to four experts in the areas related to the work of the centre, who are nominated by the a decision made by the prime minister on the basis of the president's recommendations, for a renewable four-year term.
The bylaw of the centre was published in the Official Gazette on November 23, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
