AMMAN () — Minister of Investment Kholoud Saqqaf on Monday laid the foundation stone for a project of the garment producer Classic Fashion Apparel Industry Ltd. Co. in Karak's Al Jadeeda region.
With an area of 47,000 sq.m., the project will provide some 1,550 jobs, Saqqaf said, expressing the ministry's support for new and existing investment projects that create jobs for locals to ensure their success and sustainability, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The project is in line with the Kingdom's Economic Modernisation Vision, aimed at creating new jobs and reducing local poverty and unemployment rates, according to the minister.
She also highlighted the new Investment Environment Law, issued in the Official Gazette, which is meant to keep pace with best practices in the investment sector, so as to attract new investors and empower existing ones, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The factory is slated to begin production in the near future, Classic Fashion Chairman and Managing Director Sanal Kumar said.
He also lauded the Kingdom's positive investment environment as well as the continuous support the company has received in expanding and opening new branches of garment industries.
