Saqqaf, US ambassador discuss investments

AMMAN — Investment Minister Kholoud  Saqqaf on Sunday received US Ambassador Yael Lempert and discussed mutual investment issues and how to develop them. Saqqaf commended the "deep-rooted" Jordanian-US relations and Washington's support to the Kingdom in several development sectors, according to a ministry statement. The minister mentioned the government's desire to attract more investments and overcome obstacles facing investors in line with the 2033 Economic Modernisation Vision, which seeks to increase economic growth and GDP rates to 5.6 per cent over the next decade. Lempert voiced the embassy's full support to the government's efforts to increase investments, enhance economic growth and create more jobs for Jordanians. The volume of US investments benefiting from the Investment Environment Law reaches some $1.1 billion, mainly in the energy, ICT services and industrial sectors.
