Senate president meets delegation of Arab women parliamentarians

AMMAN — Senate President Feisal Fayez on Monday called for an Arab strategy to empower women and enhance their participation in sustainable development. During his meeting with a delegation from the Arab Women Parliamentarians Network for Equality "Ra'edat", ("Pioneers" in English), Fayez highlighted efforts to support women.
He noted that the Royal Committee to Modernise the Political System’s recommendations have emphasised the necessity of a party-based parliament, stressing the need for women and youth’s participation in political parties. Members of the delegation commended Jordanian women’s achievements in various fields, notably assuming public posts and taking part in improving their community, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
