Shamali meets with BENS delegation

AMMAN — Minister of Industry, Trade, Supply and Labour Yousef Shamali on Wednesday met with a delegation from the Business Executives for American National Security Group (BENS), during which he stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between the Kingdom and the US in various fields, notably economic pursuits, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The US is an important economic partner for the Kingdom, thanks to a free trade agreement which helped increase Jordanian exports to the US market and improved Jordan's investment attractiveness, Shamali said. He also commended the US’ economic support for Jordan's development projects and anti-coronavirus efforts.

The guest delegation expressed appreciation of Jordan’s reform efforts and developments seen across the Kingdom in spite of challenges, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Jordanian exports to the US in the first 10 months of 2022 reached JD1.43 billion, compared with imports of around JD883 million. BENS is a nonprofit, nonpartisan US-based network of business and industry executives who apply best business practices to address security challenges facing the United States.
