‘Shots fired at power outlet in Maan’

AMMAN — Unknown assailants fired shots at a power distribution outlet in Maan on Monday night, the Electricity Distribution Company (EDCO) said on Tuesday. The shooting was the fourth such incident this year, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
EDCO reported the incident to the authorities and made arrangements with the Maan governor to provide protection to electricity workers, CEO Mohammad Mazaydeh said, calling for an urgent solution to the issue which causes frequent blackouts in Jafer. Subscribers’ overdue payments in Jafer have totalled JD363,000, he said, adding that each subscriber owes on average of JD514.
