Shweikeh, former ICT ministers discuss sector development

AMMAN — ICT Minister Majd Shweikeh on Monday stressed the importance of building on the accomplishments of the ICT sector over the past years, in terms of projects and infrastructure.
During a meeting with former ICT ministers, she commended their contributions to the sector and briefed them on the ministry’s current efforts and its support of entrepreneurs’ projects. Shweikeh and the former ICT ministers discussed national projects the ministry is supervising, mainly the fibre optics network and e-government services.
They stressed the importance of the partnership between the public and the private sectors as a means to further develop the ICT sector. Former ministers Hashem Dabbas, Azzam Sleit, Hatem Halawani, Omar Kurdi, Sami Gammoh, Abdullah Toukan, Jamal Sarayreh, Fawaz Zou’bi and Nadia Al Saeed attended the meeting.
