Sixth Aqaba carnival to kick off January 12

AMMAN — The Aqaba Carnival will kick off on January 12, according to the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA). The Aqaba Chamber of Commerce (ACC) has held a meeting for representatives of commercial sectors participating in the Aqaba Carnival.
ASEZA Commissioner for Tourism and Environment Nidal Majali said that the carnival will be held in cooperation between ASEZA, the ACC and the private sector, with the support of major companies and hotel and tourist facilities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Saturday.
Majali said that the event, held for the sixth consecutive year, aims at attracting domestic tourists within two programmes: The first one spans four nights and five days, and the second event extends for four days and three nights. ASEZA will hold several entertainment events as part of the carnival with sales and discounts ranging between 20 and 60 per cent.
