Statistics: 91 per cent of Jordanians use Internet

AMMAN — 91 per cent of Jordanians are connected to the Internet, according to a report released by the Market Research Unit of the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (Intaj) on Tuesday.
The report revealed that 77 per cent of individuals in Jordan prefer mobile devices to access the Internet, while only 22 per cent opt for laptops and other devices, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
About 76 per cent favour Google Chrome as their browser of choice, while Android users in Jordan represent 79 per cent, the figures showed.
With some 6.4 million people having social media accounts, usage rates totalled 56 per cent of the Jordanian population.
Highlighting notable trends among Jordanian women, the report showed that usage rate of the LinkedIn platform reached 33 per cent among women.
The data also showed a strong preference for “Snapchat” among women, with a usage rate of 54 per cent, making it their preferred platform.
“Instagram” is also very popular, attracting the attention of 50 per cent of female users, while the “X” platform had a usage rate of 37 per cent among Jordanian women.
