AMMAN — The embassy of Switzerland in Amman and the Municipality of Sahab on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Project Implementation Agreement to outline cooperation on decent work for Jordanians, Syrian refugees, and migrant workers in Sahab, a press release by the embassy said.
Mayor of Sahab Abbas Al Maharmeh was quoted in the statement as saying that the agreement was a continuation of reforms initiated by the municipality, which included the opening of an office for migrant workers within the municipality in 2016.
Swiss Ambassador Hans-Peter Lenz said, “Sahab has seen a rapid growth of its population and additional pressure on its infrastructure and services. Switzerland is committed to collaborate with the municipality to improve work conditions in Sahab.”
