Tarawneh hold talks with Arab parliamentarians over phone

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker and President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (APU) Atef Tarawneh on Thursday, during a phone calls with a number of Arab counterparts, highlighted the importance of supporting the Kingdom's stance rejecting the annexation of parts of the Palestinian territories.
Tarawneh, over the phone, held talks with Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al Ghanim, Lebanon's Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Assembly of the Representatives of the Tunisian People Rashid Ghannouchi and Speaker of the Palestinian National Council (PNC) Salim Zanoun, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Tarawneh called on the parliamentary leaders to adopt supportive stances to His Majesty King Abdullah’s position defending the rights of Palestinians.
For their parts, the Arab parliamentary leaders voiced their support for the Kingdom’s position, stressing their rejection of any unilateral Israeli step to annex parts of the West Bank, according to Petra.
