Tawjihi winter session starts today

AMMAN — The General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi) winter session starts today and concludes on January 16, with around 88,000 students registered for it, the Education Ministry said on Sunday.

The ministry has finished preparations for the examination, which will be held in 1,403 halls in 456 schools around the Kingdom, the spokesperson, Walid Jallad, said, adding that around 13,000 teachers will take part in managing the exam, in addition to the ministry’s employees, who will conduct inspection tours throughout the exams’ period. 

The Audit Bureau will participate in monitoring the administrative measures taken by the ministry to conduct the Tawjihi exam, as part of its role in boosting the quality of administrative and financial work, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted Jallad as saying.

The measure is aimed at “ensuring equality and justice” among students, in addition to boosting the exam’s transparency and integrity. 

The Education Ministry will open an operations room to follow the exam’s progress and receive feedback on the tests from students and their families, Jallad said. 

The ministry, he added, has circulated the examination’s regulations and the penalties for violating them. 

Students are required to bring their civil ID to the exam hall, while non-Jordanians have to bring their passports. Syrian students who do not have their passports must bring their security card, according to Jallad.
