AMMAN — A tipper truck that was not parked properly by its driver on Amman's Safout area on Monday slid 400 metres down the road and crashed into a bookshop in a building near the Safout Municipality.
The driver had parked the truck near a gas station and gone to buy bread from a bakery nearby, when the vehicle slid into the other side of the street and caused damage to the building.
Central Traffic Department Director Brig. Gen. Dawood Hakouz told Petra the incident could have led to the death of several pedestrians.
He added that the department will work with the concerned authorities to come up with solutions to limit the number of accidents on the Safout-Jerash road.
