Trade minister holds virtual meeting with UAE, Egypt counterparts

AMMAN — Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yousef Shamali on Tuesday held a virtual meeting with UAE Minister of Advanced Industries Sultan Jaber and Egyptian Minister of Industry and Trade Nevin Jameh, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The meeting discussed the necessary steps to activate the integrated industrial partnership between Jordan, the UAE and Egypt.
The ministers focused on a number of issues related to the partnership, its implementation, tasks of its committees and target sectors including agriculture, food, fertilisers, pharmaceuticals, textiles, metals, chemicals and plastics.
The ministers affirmed their keenness to expedite the implementation of the partnership in a manner that serves the interests of the three countries and contributes to strengthening economic cooperation.
They instructed the partnership’s executive committee to hold a meeting next week to set a roadmap for the next phase as well as plans for integrating and networking the private sector in the three countries.
