AMMAN — Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan Adel Sharkas and Chairman of Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) Bassam Sarhan have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation in financial services that are provided or regulated by the CBJ.
The memo also covers remittances and postal services subject to the regulations of the TRC, according to a TRC statement.
Sharkas stressed the important partnership between the CBJ and TRC to strengthen cooperation in supervising and monitoring institutions subject to the oversight of both institutions, which contributes to building a comprehensive database of remittances in the Kingdom and enhancing financial stability.
Sarhan called for “fruitful integration” and cooperation between both parties in the supervision of service providers that are legally subject to the CBJ and TRC oversight.
