Ukraine, Jordan to celebrate 29 years of diplomatic relations

AMMAN — Jordan and Ukraine on Monday will celebrate the 29th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

In a press briefing on Sunday, the Ukrainian embassy highlighted that the Ukrainian-Jordanian relations have witnessed continuous progress during these years, as the two countries show consistent solidarity in mutual issues. 

The embassy expressed its appreciation of Jordan's support to Ukraine, noting that it stands in solidarity with the Kingdom and its priorities, as evident through its “firm support” for the peace process in the Middle East, including the two-state solution. 

The call which took place between the leaders of the two countries on April 13 reviewed the recent developments in bilateral ties that paved the way for a number of mutually beneficial projects, according to the embassy statement. 

The embassy expressed content with the progress witnessed in the fields of trade and economy, security as well as combating the pandemic crisis and its repercussions. 

Ukraine continues to support the education of Jordanian students, preparing them to work in the main sectors in the Kingdom, including medicine, engineering, information technology, education among others.

Ukraine will stand by Jordan as a “reliable friend and true partner, for the benefit of the people in Ukraine and Jordan”, said the statement.
