AMMAN — Results of the Undergraduate Unified Admissions will be issued at the beginning of October, according to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s spokesperson, Muhannad Khatib.
Khatib told The Jordan Times that over 46,000 students have applied to undergraduate programmes this year.
“The number of students who have applied for the undergraduate unified admission stood at 46,326 students,” Khatib said.
According to Khatib, 6,046 students applied for intermediate diploma programmes, a figure he deemed “promising” in terms of the strong interest in vocational and applied specialties.
“A total of 1,300 students with grades above 65 per cent and eligible for university admission have submitted applications for the intermediate diploma programme,” Khatib said.
A total of 2,357 students have applied to the Nusaybah and Rufaydah Colleges under the Ministry of Health, said Khatib.
Khatib attributed the high figure to the fact that these colleges offer specialisations that are particularly in demand in the labour market. Students are able to receive full scholarships and upon completing their studies, work for the Ministry of Health after graduating, he added.
According to Khatib, students can modify their applications for unified admission until 12:00 midnight next Monday for undergraduate programmes, while the following Tuesday will mark the deadline for applicants to the intermediate diploma programmes.
“Application modifications include cancellation, editing, reordering and adding new choices,” Khatib added.
This year, 640 seats have been allocated for medicine, 160 for dentistry, 80 for pharmaceutical sciences and 456 for pharmacy programmes, according to Khatib.
