AMMAN — The Ministry of Energy's fuel pricing committee on Wednesday decided to increase the prices of unleaded 90- and 95-octane gasoline, while maintaining the prices of diesel and kerosene for February.

Based on increases in fuel prices in the international market over the last month, the committee decided that the price of unleaded 90-octane gasoline will increase to JD0.910 per litre in February, compared with JD0.895  in January.

The price of unleaded 95-octane gasoline will also go up to JD1.150 per litre in February, up from JD1.130 per litre in January.

The committee also decided that the prices of diesel and kerosene will remain unchanged in February, and will continue to be sold at JD0.720 and JD0.620 per litre, respectively, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The price of gas cylinders, used for cooking and heating purposes, will remain at JD7 as usual, according to the committee’s decision, made in line with the Royal directives.

The committee meets monthly to adjust domestic prices consistent with oil price changes in the international market.

Also on Wednesday, the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission decided to maintain the “differences in fuel prices” category on monthly electricity bills for February at zero fils per kilowatt-hour, Petra added.
