AMMAN — The Vocational Training Corporation (VTC) and the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding, under which the latter will run and operate some VTC institutes.
The memo is part of the implementation of the National Recruitment Programme (NRP), under which a project will be launched to substitute foreign workers with Jordanians, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Labour Minister and VTC Chairman Ali Ghezawi highlighted the role of the public and private sectors’ integration, especially as NRP stipulates incorporating the private sector in running and operating some VTC institutes.
Under the memo, Ghezawi said that some 4,000 young people will receive training in the textile, chemical and wood industries and printing and packaging sectors annually. JCI President Adnan Abul Ragheb said that the memo aims at providing various industrial sectors with the necessary qualified workforce.
