‘We Love Reading’ initiative wins int’l innovation award

AMMAN — A Jordanian children’s education initiative, titled “We Love Reading,” won the 2014 World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) award for its role in building a society of creative people in education.
The Amman-based initiative aims to encourage children to read for entertainment and trains volunteers from around the country to read aloud to children in their neighbourhoods.
The initiative has trained 730 women and opened 330 libraries across the Kingdom so far, benefiting more than 10,000 children.
