AMMAN — Zakat Fund Director General Abed Smeirat said that the fund, upon a recommendation of its board of directors, will disburse JD100 for all beneficiaries along with their monthly May salaries.
Smeirat said that the board decided to substitute vouchers with cash money so as to allow beneficiaries to buy whatever they need according to their priorities.
He added that the fund counts 5,000 beneficiaries including underprivileged, orphans and students, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Smeirat stressed the fund’s keenness to deliver Zakat and donations to beneficiaries according to Sharia (Islamic law) standards.
