Zawati calls on renewable energy sector to support job-creating projects

AMMAN — Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Hala Zawati emphasised on Wednesday the importance of coordinating efforts in the private renewable energy sector to support the sustainable productive projects that create job opportunities in various governorates across Jordan.
During a meeting organised by the EDAMA Association for Energy, Water and Environment, and which included the representatives of companies operating in the sector as well as project developers, Zawati urged companies in the sector to uphold their social responsibilities and work together to create more jobs for Jordanians.
For his part, Chairman of EDAMA’s Board of Directors Dureid Mahasneh underlined the need to adopt practical steps and timeframes to implement specific decisions to expand by creating more jobs. He said that corporate social responsibility contributes to protecting the investor and creating a favourable climate for growth through consolidating public and private sector efforts.
