AMMAN — More than 2,000 runners from around the world are expected to take part in the Ayla Red Sea Half Marathon on Friday.
“We could consider this a very encouraging start for this popular event to be held in Aqaba as we see a lot of families are taking advantage of the good weather there and registered in the event,” Lina Kurd, Run Jordan general manager, told The Jordan Times.
“We hope that everyone will be encouraged to join the crowd in the event which is not only organised to spread awareness about healthy lifestyle but also encourages people to be part of helping people in need,” she added. Final preparations are being made for the last running event organised by Run Jordan in 2016. “We can say we had a very good year, The Ayla event will be the last for this season.
Meetings will be held with all stakeholders involved to insure a smooth and successful race,” she said. The marathon consists of three categories: 21km, 10km Fun Run and 4.2km Children’s Race.
