The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) on Monday spotted a cinereous vulture, one of the world’s rarest birds, over the Azraq Water Reserve for the first time. Director of the reserve Hazem Harishah said that the cinereous vulture is one of the two largest eagles in the world, according to an RSCN statement. Tareq Qanir, director of the bird project administration at the society, said that the cinereous vulture can be found in Europe, mainly Spain, and has nesting communities near Jordan, in Saudi Arabia and Turkey (Photo courtesy of RSCN)
