AMMAN — The Jordan Times distributes on Thursday the 8th issue of Al Qibla newspaper, the mouthpiece of the Great Arab Revolt.

The newspaper starts with an article stating that the revival of the Islamic world is through the revolt, which was launched by Sharif Hussein Bin Ali against the Ottoman rule in 1916.

The biweekly also features news republished from other newspapers that refer to Russian victory over the Turkish army in Anadolia.

The issue also includes news related to developments in Germany and the UK.

It also highlights the news of the hanging of some Arab officers by the Ottoman authorities in Damascus and Baghdad.

The newspaper also refers to Egypt’s efforts in defending the Suez Canal.

In one of its pages, the paper highlights the role of books in the life in Hijaz. It also features poetry.

The issue also includes news related to developments in Greece, Balkans, Romania and Italy.

The distribution of Al Qibla (1916-1924) by The Jordan Times and other local dailies is part of celebrations of the centennial of the Great Arab Revolt.
