Princess Sumaya serves as judge in Félix Houphouët-Boigny

AMMAN – HRH Princess Sumaya, a UNESCO special envoy for science for peace, has taken part in the jury designated to select the winner of the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Peace Prize 2019.
The panel met on April 29 at the UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris. Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed received the prize for his achievements and efforts in boosting democracy, consolidating social cohesion and for his commitment to cultivating a culture of peace in conflict zones.
The prize, established in 1989, seeks to honour living individuals as well as active private and public institutions that make significant contributions to the promotion and sustenance of peace in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and the Constitution of UNESCO.
